Dual After School Program provides a fun, safe, and spacious learning environment for after school care for children Pre-K – 6th grade. Our goal is to focus on educational enrichment/development for English and Spanish speakers.

Enrollment:
Our enrollment process requires parents/guardians to complete an admission form and provide information about their child(ren) and themselves. This information helps to assure the safety of your child(ren).

If at any time you choose to unenroll your child(ren) we require a written two week notice and all balances paid in full up to the last day of attendance.

Tuition:

  • Registration Fee: $65 (non-refundable)
  • Supply Fee: $65 (August and January)
  • 4 or 5 days a week: $65
  • 3 or less days a week: $55

Facility Hours:
Our Day Program hours are 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and our After School Program hours are 3:10 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. There is a sign in/out sheet at the entrance of the facility. Please sign your child in/out daily.

We will close our facility whenever inclement weather interferes with safe travel and when public schools close as we follow the BISD scholastic calendar.

We realize that an unexpected event may delay your arrival for pickup time in the evening. However, we close promptly at 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. There will be a one dollar per minute late fee assessed if you arrive after 12:35 p.m. or 6:35 p.m. to pick up your child.

Summer: 
We offer a summer program M-F 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. We will provide one morning/afternoon snack per day you MUST provide a daily lunch for your child.

Activities for Pre-K – 6th grade will include but not be limited to the following: manipulative’s for hands on learning to develop/enrich target skills (ex. colored beads, cubes, magnets, letters, number line) technology to reinforce all areas of cognitive development (ex. computers, laptops, projector, CD players), and music with targeted topics (ex. sing along, musical CDs). Field trips TBA.

Release of Children: 
We will only release children to the specified parent/guardian listed. Please notify us in advance if someone other than a parent/guardian will be picking up your child(ren). The person who picks up your child(ren) must show photo ID, such as a driver’s license. The photo ID will be photocopied and kept on file.

Illness and Exclusion Criteria: 
We cannot care for children who:

  • Are not able to participate comfortably in the facility’s activities.
  • Has an illness that requires more care than the staff can provide without compromising the health, safety, and supervision of other children in the group.
  • Has uncontrolled diarrhea.
  • Has an oral temperature of 100.4 degrees or armpit temperature of 99.4 degrees.
  • Has had two or more episodes of vomiting.
  • Has a communicable disease.

The child can return to care when the child has been symptom free for 24 hours or if the child’s doctor provides a statement verifying that the child is no longer contagious. We understand that it is difficult to miss work or commitments, but if we call and ask you to come pick up your child please do so as promptly as possible.

Procedure for Parent/Guardian Notification:
In the event of a critical illness or injury we will take the following actions:

  • Call 911 or take the child to the nearest emergency room (St. Joseph’s)
  • Administer CPR or first aid when needed
  • Contact the child’s doctor
  • Contact the child’s parent/guardian or specified emergency contact if the parent/guardian cannot be reached.

Discipline and Guidance:
We practice the use of positive methods of discipline and guidance that encourage self-esteem, self-control, and self- direction which includes the following:

  • Using praise and encouragement of good behavior not only focusing on unacceptable behavior.
  • Reminding a child of behavior expectations daily by using clear and positive statements.
  • Redirecting behavior with positive statements.
  • Implementing brief supervised separation or time out from the group. Time out is limited to no more than one minute per year of the child’s age.

Snacks: 
We will provide one snack, 100% juice, and water daily.

Medical Requirements:
All enrolled children must have the following:

  • Current Immunization record on file.
  • Hearing and vision results on file.

Medication:
We will not administer any medication to children however, if your child requires medication you are welcome to come to facility to administer medication to your child as needed.

Transportation: 
We will provide transportation via bus for Pre-K-6th grade children from designated campuses to our facility.

The bus is equipped with a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit. The staff will carry a cell phone at all times to notify the facility in the event of a flat tire, mechanical problem, or any other issues. 

Water Activities/Field Trips/Animals:
At this time, we do not provide or participate in water activities and/or field trips during the school year. Water activities/field trips are implemented in our Summer Program when applicable. We do not allow animals in the facility. 

Parent/Volunteer Participation:
We welcome parent/volunteer participation and if you are interested in volunteering at our facility we will need you to provide information for a criminal background check, complete a notarized affidavit about your background, and attend a short orientation.

Reporting Suspected Child Abuse: 
We are required by law to report any suspected incidents of possible child abuse or neglect. If you have concerns about a child(ren) in our care please contact the Director. The Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services instruct us not to notify the parent/guardian of the report. You may also report the suspected abuse or neglect by Calling the Child Abuse hotline: 1-800-252-5400 24 hours/7 days a week.

Reviewing Minimum Standards and Reports:
A copy of the Minimum Standards is available for review in the office. Our most recent Licensing Inspector report is always posted on the bulletin board in the front of our facility.
